cellini's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flickr Photo Prompts Trish and the kids are leaving for this extended family thing at 2:30 today and I'll have the whole place to myself when I get home. Hot damn. If it's dry enough, I'm gonna build until dark. Then quaff saison and cook something interesting. Maybe make beer? Watch porn. Probably do some writing. I so rarely get even a few hours alone that this is a big occasion for me. Just like that, it's already past noon. How the hell did that happen? This day is going by fast. And I'm even getting a lot of actual work done today in the office. I don't know if I'm going to work on the book tonight or do some more of these little Flickr photo prompts. I've never had much of a problem with writers block, but I should think that this is a good way of getting rid of it. I conduct more or less random searchs for photos on Flickr and when I see one that looks interesting, I use it as a illustrative prompt for a short story or fragment thereof. Find a photo, write a page. Find another photo and work it into the plot. The photo always comes first and then the plot responds to the photo. So I have no idea where I'm going with something until I have the next photo and start writing. I put a bunch of them on my Facebook account yesterday as notes. 11:22 - 2008-04-04 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
