Awesome Show Great Job!

My class this past weekend was awesome. We had a vegan show up!

She'd never so much as held a firearm before. We taught her to shoot and managed to get her to where she was hitting pretty well at 100 yards. By the time we were halfway through the field dressing demonstration she was actually laughing and smiling and joking about. Then when it was time to butcher, cook and eat the meat last night, she actually did it. She ate the venison and liked it.

The funny thing is that she still considers herself a vegan. A vegan who also now knows how to hunt, shoot, kill, butcher, cook and eat a large mammal. In her mind, so long as it was killed in the wild it still counts as part of a vegan diet. Hey, whatever works for her.

My whole group of students this time was just great. We had a vegan, a cinematographer from Brooklyn, an orthopedic surgeon from India with his college-aged son, a Marine, a 5 foot tall banjo player, and a web designer/bass player from DC. They were all great, they all got a long really well, they had lots of fun, nobody complained when we had to shuttle everyone 3 at a time over an otherwise impassible road on Paul's Jeep to get to the shooting range. They asked smart questions and they all took a ton of notes. Awesome group and I wish all of them were this good.
