On Wuv

Huh.

Is there really any point to dissecting why one person loves another person? Many years ago I loved someone who, in retrospect, was utterly undeserving and a waste of time. She was pretty and she was nice to fuck but there was nothing special about her intellectually or spiritually or in her way of going about anything. She was actually kind of a basket case. But the first time that I kissed her was one of the most thrilling moments of my life. Why?

There's really no accounting for it. I'm thinking about this for 2 reasons, one of which is whether there is any point to trying to illustrate why a protagonist in a novel falls in love with a particular woman. And to be entirely honest, I don't think it should be explained. Described, stated, shown. But not explained because *there is no explanation*.
